Girls on the Run of Puget Sound, a non-profit youth empowerment program, is looking for volunteer head and assistant coaches for its fall session beginning Sept. 28 and running through December 4.
Coaches will guide groups of 3rd-5th grade girls through a curriculum that uses active running games to teach healthy lifestyle lessons. The girls will be training for a non-competitive 5K race at the end of the season.
• Volunteer coaches must be available during after-school hours.
• Program sites meet twice a week after school, 3-5 p.m. timeframe.
• Coaches are expected to attend every practice.
• Each site has 2 – 4 coaches – one Head Coach and Assistant Coaches as needed.
• The program is offered twice a year: Fall Session (September to December) and Spring Session (March to June). Each session runs for 10 weeks.
• Head Coaches must be 21 years or older.
• Assistant Coaches must be 16 years or older.
