Redmond’s Henrickson leads Eastside Gymnastics at state competition

Redmond resident Cassandra Henrickson recently competed in the USA Gymnastics Level 6 state competition and won first place in the all-around competition for the Junior C division.

Redmond resident Cassandra Henrickson recently competed in the USA Gymnastics Washington Level 6 state competition and won first place in the all-around competition for the Junior C division.

Henrickson, who’s all-around score was 36.525, represented Eastside Gymnastics Academy (EGA) in Woodinville.

The team also won the gold in the USA Gymnastics Washington Level 5 state competition in the small teams division, which consisted of teams with eight competitors or fewer. Their winning score was 110.8.

The team, led by coaches Casey Campbell and Marina Mamedova, consisted of Redmond residents Alexa Midtbo, Natalie Schare, Leah Schare and Aya Watson as well as Kenzie Bloom of Mukilteo, Taara Elahi of Kirkland, Sofia Fulkerson of Woodinville and Lacie Hoang of Bothell.

The event was held on April 28-29 at Sammamish High School in Bellevue and was hosted by Cascade Elite Gymnastics of Mountlake Terrace.
