Redmond’s Tessa Fujisaki placed near the top in two running events this weekend at the 3A state track and field championships at Mount Tahoma High in Tacoma.
She took second in the 400 meters (57.85 seconds) and fourth in the 200 meters (25.33 seconds).
Also for Redmond, the boys 4×400-meter relay took seventh in 3:32.67. The team consisted of Carson Lui, Kyle Nickum, Ben Visse and Oliver Ruo.
In boys discus action, Mustang Ben Maier took eighth in 139 feet, .06 inches.
In 1A girls state track and field action on May 25 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Bear Creek’s Andrea Markezich took fifth in the 1,600 meters in 5:11.05. On Saturday, she placed seventh in the 3,200 meters in 11:15.47.
