Redmond West Little League to host free baseball and softball night

Boys and girls ages 4-12 are invited to a free Little League softball and baseball event as a way to offer the community a fun and friendly way to learn about the sport. The event will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 at EL1 Sports, 15046 NE 95th St., Redmond, and will feature games and activities where kids can try batting and pitching, get a free T-shirt and win prizes.

“We have seen many new families move to Redmond from other countries, and our goal here is to make baseball and softball accessible to everyone,” said Will Simmonds, president of Redmond West Little League. “This event offers kids a fun and safe environment to learn about the sports and try it out. Likewise, the kids and parents will also get a chance to see what an amazing community we have and make new friends.”

The organization notes that baseball and softball embody the discipline of teamwork, where kids learn about sportsmanship, character and camaraderie — all while having fun and making new friends. The very nature of the sports teaches that while every player eventually strikes out or may be on the losing team, there is always another chance for success in the next at-bat or game.

No reservations are needed for this event. For more information, email marketing@redwestll.org.
