Redmond earned eighth place in the team standings at the 3A state swim and dive meet on Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Individually, Katelyn Harper took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5 minutes, 13.23 seconds and sixth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.12; Allison Chen placed sixth in the 1-meter diving competition with 314.55 points; and Kristen Harper notched eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.86.
In the relays, the Mustangs took ninth in both the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:42.34 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:41.76. Redmond won the B final in both events. The locals also took 10th in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.15.
The relays consisted of Kristen Harper, Cassandra Ross, Emily Martin, Claire Wu, Jamesyn Gray, Anamika Nanda and Emily Whelan.
“I am very pleased with the way the girls competed at state. We prepared together as a team and came into the meet ready to swim,” said coach Julie Barashkoff. “All three of our relays were strong and dropped time from prelims to finals.”
