Redmond grad Ulvestad shines at collegiate ski nationals

Redmond High graduate Katie Ulvestad, (class of 2010) who is now attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., raced well at the United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Collegiate National Championships in Maine last weekend.

Redmond High graduate Katie Ulvestad, (class of 2010) who is now attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., raced well at the United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Collegiate National Championships in Maine last weekend.

She placed seventh in the slalom event and 15th in the Giant Slalom for an overall ninth-place finish. Ulvestad’s performance helped St. Olaf place fifth in the field of 19 teams in the Alpine division.

Ulvestad is also on the college’s Track and Field team, and is planning to double-major in Biology and Economics.
