The Redmond High golf team ended the regular season on a high note, beating Inglemoor 192-217 at Bear Creek Country Club on Thursday afternoon. Leading the way for the Mustangs were the twin threats of Lyle and Oliver Rudnicki, who fired 1-under 35s to co-medal.

The Redmond High golf team ended the regular 4A Kingco season on a high note, beating Inglemoor 192-217 at Bear Creek Country Club on Thursday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Mustangs was Lyle and Oliver Rudnicki, who fired 1-under 35s to co-medal.

The Rudnicki twins had tied for the top season scoring average on the team, so a makeshift “playoff” on the 9th hole between the two was initiated, and on the third time through, Lyle ended up winning.

“I have really enjoyed having (the Rudnickis) on the team for 4 years, as well as my other seniors, Cole Helgeson and Kirk Gysler,” Zimmerman said. “It’s crazy that the 2 twins on my team tied for the year, tied for their last home match, tied the first 2 playoff holes.”

The Mustangs will be playing at the Kingco 4A District Tournament at Willows Run Golf Club in Redmond on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

The top 12 36-hole totals from the event will earn an automatic berth to the 4A state golf championships, which will be held in the spring at a site to be determined.
