Redmond baseball defeated Lake Washington — the defending 3A state champs — 8-2 on Friday at Hartman Park.
In the 3A KingCo matchup, Redmond went up 4-0 after two innings and built a 6-0 lead after five.
Bradley Cagle had two hits and two RBIs for Redmond, who also got a double and two RBIs from David Gibons, two RBIs from Yui Suzuki, one RBI from Blake Steckler and one hit each from Hunter Sullivan and Alex Astorga.
Gibons earned the win with five innings pitched and seven strikeouts. He gave up just two hits.
