Nearly 100 people participated in Sunday’s fun run that started at the Redmond Athletic Club (RAC) and ended at Redhook Brewery in Woodinville.

The first of three RAC to Redhook runs this summer started at RAC at 8709 161st Ave. N.E. and stretched along a flat 4.5-mile course on the scenic Sammamish River Trail to the brewery.

But this was no walk in the park.

While it was a non-competitive fun run, the course featured four dynamic, but brutally challenging “fitness challenges” along the way. The organized exercises at each mile marker along the course were run by certified fitness trainers.

At the end, there were beverages and snacks for all participants at Redhook Brewery.’

There will be two more RAC to Redhook races this summer, one July 24 and another Aug. 21.

All of the proceeds from these events will benefit Redmond-based Hopelink, a social services organization.
