Overlake’s Owen Friend notched most valuable player honors on the 1A boys basketball Emerald City League roster this season.

Bear Creek’s Jace Blankenbeckler is the rookie of the year and the Grizzlies earned the team sportsmanship award.

Along with Friend, Bear Creek’s Colby Cadigan is a first-teamer. Local second-teamers are Bear Creek’s Trevor McCrae and Overlake’s Zeyad Daher.

On the girls’ side, Bear Creek’s Alyson Wong and Overlake’s Amanda Lin are second-teamers.

Overlake’s Rachel Yusko is coach of the year.

• Redmond High’s Aleks Bober and Kiki Milloy garnered first-team honors on the 2A/3A KingCo boys and girls basketball rosters this season.

Mustangs Devon La Pierre and Teagyn Ohrt are second-teamers, and Carson Brown, Andrea Dang and Katie Hartman are honorable mentions.
