The Overlake School boys' soccer team remained undefeated as the Owls beat Cedar Park Christian, 4-1, on Friday and battled to a 2-2 tie with Seattle Academy on Saturday in the Emerald City League over the weekend.

The Overlake School boys’ soccer team remained undefeated as the Owls beat Cedar Park Christian, 4-1, on Friday and battled to a 2-2 tie with Seattle Academy on Saturday in the Emerald City League over the weekend.

The Owls trailed Cedar Park Christian, 1-0, in the second half before Jesse Klug scored three goals in a 10-minute span as Overlake took a 3-1 lead. Rohan Kumar scored the final goal against Cedar Park Christian on a pass from Klug.

Overlake trailed Seattle Academy, 2-1, with three minutes to go when Klug made a hard drive to the left of the goal and crossed it to Kumar, who scored to tie the game at 2 with one minute left.

Overlake created several scoring opportunities in overtime, but couldn’t capitalize as the game finished in a 2-2 tie. In the second half and overtime periods, the Owls outshot Seattle Academy, 19-4.

The Owls are now 8-0-1 in league and 9-0-1 overall.

Growls blank Bush, 10-0

Senior Jacob Gilles threw four scoreless innings and senior Aaron DiGenova got the scoring started early with a leadoff home run as the Overlake-Bear Creek baseball team dismantled Bush, 10-0, in five innings Friday at Marymoor Park. Senior Jackson Umberger added his second home run in two days for Overlake-Bear Creek, which improve to 7-1 in Emerald City League play and 8-2 overall.

Redmond girls’ golf knocks off Skyline

The Redmond High School girls’ golf team stretched its Kingco 4A winning streak to 92 with a 228-292 win against Skyline last Thursday at Bear Creek Golf and Country Club.

Keira O’Hearn earned medalist honors with a 38 and Casie Helgeson fired a 42 in the win for the Mustangs, who improved to 6-0 in league matches.

The Mustangs take on Newport in a key Kingco showdown at 3 p.m. at Bear Creek Golf and Country Club.
