The Overlake School announced the hiring of Caine Jette as head volleyball coach for the 2015 season.
Jette has coached collegiately at M.I.T., locally at the club level for Island Thunder and assisted Overlake’s varsity last season. As a player, he was primarily a setter in college and earned four varsity letters at M.I.T. He was recruited as a high school standout at Maui High School in Kahului, Hawaii.
Overlake’s athletic director John Wiley said, “Rarely has there been so much of a push to promote an assistant coach as there was for Caine. Caine brings a wealth of coaching experience from club to college and his passion for the game rubs off on those around him.”
Allison Prohn was the former coach and led the Owls to a successful season in 2014, notching a league record of 7-4 in the upper division of the Emerald City League. The Owls won matches in the playoffs, but fell a match short of the state tournament. Prohn left the school in February to pursue a new job therefore opening up the head coaching position.
