Overlake girls’ lacrosse team wins state playoff opener; boys take on Ballard Saturday

The Overlake School girls' lacrosse team opened the state playoff tournament with a 15-4 win against Bainbridge Tuesday at The Overlake School.

The Overlake School girls’ lacrosse team opened the state playoff tournament with a 15-4 win against Nathan Hale Tuesday at The Overlake School.

Katie Hill led the way for the Owls with three goals and three assists. Teammate Grace Grubb scored three goals and collected one assist. In addition, Zoe Pinczower and Mariel Frank each scored two goals for the Owls, who improved to 8-4-1.

The Overlake School boys’ lacrosse team is also playing in the state tournament and takes on Ballard in its state opener at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Overlake School.

The Owls, winners of four straight, won the regular-season Evergreen Conference title and enter the state tournament with a with an 11-0-0 record.
