The Growls edged University Prep, 4-3, in an eight-inning showdown Wednesday at University Prep.
Overlake’s Jackson Umberger finished 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs and Aaron Digenova got the win on the mound for the Owls.The Growls (9-2 in league, 10-4 overall) can clinch the league crown with a win Friday against Bellevue Christian in the regular-season finale at Marymoor Park at 3 p.m..
The Growls already have secured one of the two playoff spots to next week’s Tri-District tournament.
Redmond fastpitch knocks off Beamer
Redmond High School’s (RHS) Natalie Roberts and Melissa White combined for two-hitter as the Mustangs beat Beamer, 5-1, in a nonleague fastpitch game at RHS.
Louise Chouinard, Ashley Mitchell and Blake Gransee each had two hits for the Mustangs, to 6-9 overall. Chouinard also had two RBIs.
