Oliver Rudnicki in contention heading into final round at First Tee Open at Pebble Beach

Oliver Rudnicki, a senior at Redmond High and member of The First Tee of Greater Seattle will play Pebble Beach tomorrow in the final round of the Nature Valley First Tee Open. Rudnicki and professional Steve Lowery combined to shoot 11-under during the first two rounds of play after rounds of 66 and 67 to tie for 11th place in the best-ball format of the event, which pairs 78 junior golfers with 78 Champions Tour players.

Leading the field by four shots at 19 under par is the team of former Masters winner Ben Crenshaw and Casie Cathrea of the First Tee of Greater Sacramento, who fired a 12-under 60 in today’s second round.

Oliver’s twin brother Lyle and two-time PGA Tour champion David Peoples combined to shoot 69-71–140 to miss the cut.

The top 22 juniors advance to the final round tomorrow and it will be televised nationally on the Golf Channel on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (ET).
