Overlake tennis defeats U. Prep

The Owls’ tennis team beat University Prep in a rain-shortened 1A Emerald City League match 3-1.

In singles action, No. 1 singles Trym Torvund defeated Bayard Blair 6-1, 6-0, and Grant Gibson won two close sets against Andy Paige 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles, Bob Gardner and Ethan Hayden came from behind to win their match and seal the win for the Owls, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.

 

Bear Creek boys roll past Puget Sound Adventist

Bear Creek’s boys’ soccer team ran wild against Puget Sound Adventist on Tuesday at home, winning 5-0 in a Sea-Tac 2B league game.

Luke Blankenbeckler opened up the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by a pair of Mark Phillips goals in the 19th and 43rd minutes.

Frank Sun and Jesse Leuenberger added scores in the second half and Michael Worley earned the shutout as Bear Creek improved to 5-0-1 in league play and 6-0-1 overall.
