Issaquah defeated Redmond at home, 7-2, last Thursday in a 4A Kingco tennis match.
The visiting Eagles won five of six in singles and two of three doubles matches.
For Redmond, Scott Singleton contributed to the Mustangs’ two points, defeating Issaquah’s Evan Cheung in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. Singleton then teamed up with No.1 singles player Jarel Murray to defeat Kyle Beatty and Kyle Weber, 6-1, 6-4.
VOLLEYBALL: Grizzlies roar
The Bear Creek Grizzlies beat Concrete, 3-0, in a nonleague contest last Saturday at The Bear Creek School in Redmond. After a pair of closely contested 25-19 and 25-17 games, the Grizzlies turned it up a notch and won game three, 25-3.
For Bear Creek, Alexis Miller led the way with 11 aces and two kills. Senior standout Katie Wolfram added eight aces and five kills, and Emily Kadeg served up seven aces and had with four assists.
VOLLEYBALL: Owls grab victory
The Overlake Owls beat Forest Ridge last Friday in a Emerald City 1A match, 3-1.
After dropping the first game 25-19, the Owls gained momentum and never looked back, winning the next gree games 25-14, 25-23 and 25-17 to take the match.
Overlake’s Alex Weaver, a junior, served up seven aces and Claire Bazely was credited for five kills.
SOCCER: Bear Creek teams win
The Bear Creek boys’ soccer team pounded Bush, 7-0, last Saturday in a SeaTac B matchup at the Fall Kickoff at The Bear Creek school.
Sophomore star Ryan Strandin scored two goals and had two assists, while Will Stansell also had a pair of goals. Goalkeeper Jamie Clough earned the shutout victory.
The girls’ soccer squad beat Rainier Christian 9-0.
Laurie Robinson and Morgan Rial had two goals apiece. Molly Miller scored one goal and had two assists.
