The Bear Creek-Overlake baseball team won a pair of games last weekend to advance to the 1A state final four.
The Growls will play Vashon Island at 7 p.m. Friday at Yakima County Stadium.
Pitcher Ryan Long fired a 4-0 shutout against Cascade Christian, and hurler Matt Kelleran pitched an eight-inning complete game in a 4-1 win against King’s Way Christian (Vancouver).
Peter Dudunakis was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored in the first game. In the next game, Karsten Kohout drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, followed by a two-run double by Trevor McRae.
Emerald City League co-MVPs were Kelleran and Long and joining them as first-teamers were Dudunakis, Kohout and Tellier Lundquist.
