The City of Woodinville Parks and Recreation will be holding two sets of weekly classes on fly fishing beginning this week.
The Fly Fishing 101 class will be an eight-week course, held at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, starting on April 22.
In this course, students will be introduced to entomology, habitat, knots, casting techniques, basic fly tying and stream reading.
The Fly Tying 101 class is a six-week course held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting April 21. The basics of fly tyling will be taught, including five different patterns and the techniques to tie flies, streamers, nymphs and attractors.
All classes will be held at the Carol Edwards Center, located at 17401 133rd Ave NE in Woodinville, and include two field trips held at the river.
Cost is $39.50 for Woodinville residents or $45.43 for non-residents, and an additional fee of $15 for the course manual is payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
