QUOTABLE
“We lost four seniors who made the cut at the state tournament, but we have a young and talented team which will be fun to watch and compete. They are now out of the shadow of last year’s stellar senior class who never lost a league match in four years and contributed 11 banners to the school gym: Kingco, District, and State, in their high school career. We have tremendous depth and competition with 10-11 kids competing for six district spots.” – Redmond coach Jake Crowley

• Sr. Kevin Bush: Senior co-captain has been on varsity all four years. Just missed state last year and looks to make amends in his last chance.
• Jr. Sam Brown: Returning letterman has ability to shoot low numbers and should be a threat this postseason.
KEY NEWCOMER
• Fr. Danny Lee: Extremely talented freshman got off to a great start with a medal in his first Varsity match, firing a three-over-par 38. May be a sign of great things to come for this kid.

QUOTABLE
“We’ve been blessed with having good players, and we’re trying to build a golf tradition here. We’ve never really had that. The girls have had some good teams in the past, but the boys (haven’t). We’re trying to build character first, integrity second, and then a never-quit attitude. I’m trying to teach them what the heck will go on in life, whether it’s their marriage, or their job, or a boss they don’t like someday, just dealing with adversity. Most of it is staying positive, no matter what you shoot.” – Overlake coach Doug Weaver

Coach Farmer works as a Titleist Performance Institute golf conditioning specialist, which provides her team access to a one-of-a-kind program to help improve their game. “All my players are taken through a functional movement screen to assess any physical limitations that might be affecting their game, and then through conditioning we work to correct those and then translate them into the swing,” she explained. “We work through 20-30 minutes of just warm up, coordination and mobility drills before ever swinging a club at practice. The result though is better ball striking, longer shots and fewer injuries.”
QUOTABLE
“The team is looking great. We’ve revamped our practice routine and have incorporated a lot of new elements from the conditioning side of things to help the team improve. We’re all excited to see everyone’s hard work pay off on the course.” – Coach Farmer
