Zach Alleva is not a student at Eastlake High, but his name will be in the swimming record books.
Alleva, a junior at The Bear Creek School in Redmond who swims for the Eastlake High team in Sammamish, won the 100-yard breastroke at last Saturday’s Class 4A state competition with an All-American consideration time of 58.07 seconds.
Alleva’s performance at the King County Aquatic Center set a new school record and it was his first-ever championship in the event. “More than the time, just winning was great,” said Alleva, who credited this season’s success to hard work, practice and getting bigger.Alleva finished seventh in the event last year.
