The voters in the 45th Legislative District should send Rep. Roger Goodman back to Olympia. He has been an effective legislator who has worked effectively across the aisle to solve actual problems in our communities.
His landmark DUI legislation has saved more than 100 lives a year in our state, and Goodman won the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) legislator of the year award for it. Goodman has a long list of support from across the entire political spectrum. He has support of law enforcement, from our Washington State Troopers, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Council of Metropolitan Police and Sheriffs (COMPAS). He has the support of firefighters across the Eastside, including Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue and Bothell. He has been endorsed by the Washington Education Association, the Lake Washington Education Association, Public School Employees of Washington and the American Federation of Teachers Washington.
As a father of two, he is a champion for early learning – he truly cares about our kids, and has been repeatedly named a “Champion for Children” by the Children’s Alliance and a “Champion for Education” by the League of Education Voters. He has said that funding public schools is his top priority, and he has led measures to expand early childhood education.
Goodman deserves to return to Olympia.
