Shirley Ann Orr
Shirley Ann Orr, of Redmond, passed away May 8, 2009 at the age of 72 years.Shirley was born November 29, 1936 in Lewistown, Montana to Al and Myrt Nierstheimer. She later graduated from Broadview (MT) High School in 1955. Shirley married George Orr August 24, 1958 in Billings, Montana, and was blessed with two daughters. She was very active in her daughter’s school and sport activities as they moved from Montana to California before settling in Redmond, Washington in May 1977.Shirley was a merchandiser for American Greetings cards for about 15 years. She was actively involved in the SEA BELLES (an auxiliary of the Bellevue Power and Sail Squadron) for about 12 years. She loved to keep busy doing crafts of all kinds, including knitting and crocheting.She loved cats of all kinds to the point she called herself a “cat-person”; yet two of her favorite pets over the years were dogs. She maintained bird houses and feeders and hummingbird feeders in the yard where she could watch them come and go. She loved to watch Animal Planet.Preceded in death by her youngest daughter Terry (cancer 2003) and by both her parents, Shirley is survived by her beloved husband George Orr of Redmond, loving daughter Georgeanne Orr of Roslyn; Brother Ron Nierstheimer of Billings, Montana; cousin, Darlene (Mike) Hutha of Arlington, a cousin Sharon (Gary) Yeager of Kalispell, Montana; and several nephews and nieces.Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in her honor on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 1:30 PM, Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA.
