Richard L. Everson

On September 18, 1931 a fine Norwegian boy was born to Harold and Eleanor Everson in Redmond, Washington. Dick graduated from Lake Washington High in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. on Enewetak. He worked in the asphalt paving business and moved to Lacey, starting Everson Asphalt Paving, Inc. Dick retired in 1996. After a brief but valiant effort fighting lung cancer, he passed away October 20, 2010 at home with family at his side. Dick leaves behind wife, Bernadine of 37 years; stepdaughter, Shannon Duffey; sisters, Char Hahnien (Ken), Bea Leland; brother, Herb (Jan); numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Kathleen. Dick also leaves their “adopted grandchildren”, Heather and Jayni McGhee, Tiffany Hawkins and Jordan Costello. At Dick’s request there will be no service Forever in my heart- “B”
