Michael (Mike) Elwood Davies
Michael Elwood Davies, 77, passed away on Thursday September 19, 2013.
He was born to the late Willis and Mabel Davies on April 3, 1936 in Redmond, WA. Mike graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1954, served 8 years in the US Army Reserves and married Cheryl L Davies on December 4, 1959. They lived together while raising their three children in Kirkland, WA.
Mike had his own commercial construction company for over ten years and then worked as a Project Superintendent for Baugh Construction until his retirement in July, 1995. Mike was a master of his profession and took great pride in his accomplishments.
Mike and Cheryl retired to Goodyear, AZ in 1995 where they became very involved in the Pebble Creek Community. Mike enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golfing, cooking, and building sets for the Pebble Creek Theatre. He loved to vacation by cruise with his wife. He was a sports enthusiast enjoying football, baseball and hockey.
Mike is preceded in death by his two daughters, Cynthia and Lisa Davies. He is survived by his wife of 53-years and three children, Mark Davies of Littleton CO; M. Shawn and Toni Davies of Peoria, AZ; and Rodney and Diane Davies Poepping of Eagle River, AK. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Tana Davies, Taylor Davies, Taryn Davies, Michael Poepping, Lucy Poepping, Alexis Davies and Delaney Davies.
There will be no public service, Mike’s favorite charity was Children’s Hospital.
