Hazel L. Johnson

Hazel Johnson passed on June 30, 2009 at Riverside Healthcare Center in Missoula, MT. Hazel was born September 17, 1914 in Spokane, Washington to Harley and Cora Blanche Shelton. She lived most of her life in Redmond, Washington where her father served as mayor for many years and attended Redmond High School. She married Odine Elken in 1933 and he died in 1968. She then married Vonal “Tac” Johnson who died in 1986. Survivors include sister, Dorothy Wright of Polson, Montana; step-daughter, Yvonne Johnson Conway of Olympia, Washington; nieces, Katherine Lusse, Anne Wright and Susan Christiansen and nephews Warren Wright and Dan Christiansen.Hazel was an active member of Silver Sands Rebeka Lodge and the Nakomis Club in Redmond. The family would like to thank Hospice of Missoula for her loving end of life care and the excellent staff at Riverside Healthcare Center for providing such caring support. Cremation has taken place; at Hazel’s request, no memorial service will be held.Memorials may be made to Medic Car – Redmond Fire Department. Burial will take place at CedarLawn Cemetery in Redmond Washington.
