Chaz Jacob Bruner, 15, of Redmond, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the morning of April 18, 2017 of an aortic dissection.
He was born March 14, 2002 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Matthew and Kathryn (Probstfield) Bruner. He attended Norman Rockwell Elementary, Bellevue Christian School, and Redmond Middle School and was currently enrolled as a 9th grade student at The Bear Creek School in Redmond. He was a member of the basketball team and played piano in Jazz Band.
Chaz is survived by his parents Matthew and Kathryn of Redmond; and his sisters Hannah (12) and Malia (10). He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Margaret Probstfield, of Phoenix, Arizona; and his paternal grandparents, Chazz and Judy Kawabori of Mukilteo. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
An avid lover of sports Chaz enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, baseball, wrestling, swimming, skiing and water sports of all kinds. Chaz loved music and played the piano and ukelele.
Chaz lived in Kentucky, Hawaii, and Washington state. Chaz attended Overlake Christian Church in Redmond and was also active in Young Life. He will be remembered as a fun-loving, kind, intelligent and gentle young man who showed great compassion and care to all. He will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 7th at 3pm at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond and is open to all.
