Avis Maxine Shults

Avis was born in Sioux City, IA on February 17, 1922. She passed away on May 2, 2012.She moved to Oregon as a small child and then to Seattle where she spent most of her youth and graduated from Broadway High School. She met her husband Calvin Shults at a dance and they married after he returned from the war. They were married for 57 years until his death in 2001. They bought a dairy farm in Redmond and raised four children. She was an active member of the American Legion and the Girls State program, Happy Valley Grange and other clubs. She was kind, caring, and had a wonderful sense of humor.Avis is survived by her sons, Bruce, Ron (Julie), Keith (Terri), and daughter Calene Williams as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Happy Valley Grange, 19720 NE 50th St., Redmond on Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 pm.
