Zetron, a mission-critical communications systems provider based in Redmond, will host its fourth annual Shoot for the Stars golf tournament to benefit the Behind the Badge Foundation on Aug. 20 at The Golf Club in Newcastle.
Behind the Badge is an organization that honors, supports and assists Washington’s injured and fallen law-enforcement officers and their families.
Tournament participants will include emergency first responders, law enforcement officers and public-safety personnel from agencies throughout Washington, as well as local and state officials. Athletes who will also be on hand to support and participate in the event include former Seattle Seahawks Nesby Glasgow, Alonzo Mitz and Randall Morris. David Rose, Q13 FOX news anchor and host of Washington’s Most Wanted, will again serve as master of ceremonies, as he has done each year since the event’s inception.
Through a combination of event fees, sponsorships and matching donations from Zetron, its employees and Zetron president and CEO Ellen O’Hara, the previous tournaments have raised a total of more than $41,000 for Behind the Badge. This year, the event is on track to meet or exceed a target of $20,000, which would bring Zetron’s donations to Behind the Badge to more than $61,000.
“Zetron’s annual Shoot for the Stars benefit for Behind the Badge has become one of the most important and meaningful community activities we engage in each year,” said O’Hara. “It not only reaffirms connections between all of those who plan, sponsor and participate in the event, but also brings important attention to Behind the Badge and the law enforcement heroes and families that the foundation supports.”
