Wright steps down from LWSD board race

Julie Wright has announced today that she is no longer campaigning for the District 4 position on the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) Board of Directors.

In a statement sent to the Redmond Reporter, Wright explained, “Due to unforeseen changes in family circumstances that will not allow me to focus my full attention on my campaign or my term in office if elected, I have decided to withdraw from active campaigning in the race for Lake Washington School District Director, District 4. I have appreciated the support from many friends in the campaign and realize this will be a disappointment for them, but I’m sure they will understand my need to act in the best interest of my family.”

Wright, who lives in Sammamish, had earlier planned to run against the incumbent Director of District 4, Doug Eglington, also of Sammamish. Eglington will now be unopposed for re-election to this seat on the school board.

Nancy Phillips Bernard, a Kirkland resident, will also run unopposed for re-election as Director of LWSD’s District 3 in the Nov. 3 general election in King County.
