The City of Redmond and the Cascade Land Conservancy are partnering to sponsor a work party on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park at 19545 Redmond Rd.
All those who care about Redmond’s urban forests can help by volunteering to remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs to reestablish a healthy forest and mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.
No experience is necessary and gloves, tools and other materials are available. It is important to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All ages are welcome, although all volunteers younger than 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed waiver (available at www.greenredmond.org, on the Volunteer Schedule page).
This event is part of the Last Saturday of the Month program from Green Redmond. The last event of the season will take place on October 29 at Hartman Park, 17300 N.E. 104 St.
All volunteers should look for Green Redmond Partnership event signs to sign in and receive their tools and gloves.
