Woman assaulted on Redmond Way, police working to identify suspect

A 21-year-old female contacted Redmond police at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Monday and reported that she was assaulted by an unknown male in the 14200 block of Redmond Way.

A 21-year-old female contacted Redmond police at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Monday and reported that she was assaulted by an unknown male in the 14200 block of Redmond Way.

The victim reported she was walking home along Redmond Way when the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her around the waist, according to a press release from Redmond Police Department Assistant Chief Kristi Wilson.

“The male suspect told the victim he wanted to have sex with her and attempted to drag her into the woods,” Wilson wrote. “The victim was able to fight off her attacker and the suspect fled westbound on Redmond Way towards Kirkland.”

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-8 and 140-160 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie, black sweatshirt and dark jeans. A sketch artist was able to meet with the victim and complete the attached sketch.
