Redmond firefighters turned on their hoses and helped TalkingRain and Party Camp members fill recycling bins as fast as they could at 11 a.m. today at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center.
Whichever team filled their bin the quickest won at the TalkingRain benefit event.Pictured in the slideshow competing are Megan Page and Nicolette Sirotta of TalkingRain and Neil Bergquist and Andrew Mewborn of Party Camp along with Redmond firefighters.
TalkingRain donated $1,000 to Camp Korey, a Carnation camp for seriously ill children, in the name of the Redmond Fire Department. TalkingRain presented the check following the relay races. The donation is part of TalkingRain’s ongoing commitment to the community.
The event tees up Party Camp — a one-day adult summer camp — on Aug. 17 at Seattle Center. An estimated 12,500 people will enjoy old-school fun during the day before they hurl more than 300,000 water balloons in an attempt to break the Guinness world record for largest water balloon fight.
Tickets for Party Camp are $25 with a $12 early bird deal available through LivingSocial for a limited time. Regular tickets and information about Party Camp are available at www.SeattlePartyCamp.com.
