Today the DelBene for Congress campaign announced that Gov. Chris Gregoire and Congressmen Jay Inslee, Rick Larsen, Jim McDermott and Adam Smith have endorsed Suzan DelBene, who is running in the Eighth Congressional District for the U. S. House of Representatives in 2010.
Delbene, a former Microsoft corporate vice president, will challenge Auburn resident Dave Reichert, who is currently serving his third term as congressman for the Eighth District, which includes Redmond.
“Creating jobs, promoting innovation, and delivering affordable health care must be our priorities,” said DelBene, who is a consultant to public and private sector companies and is a strategic advisor to Global Partnerships, a non-profit, focused on supporting microfinance and sustainable solutions that serve those in poverty in Latin America. “These endorsements stand as a reflection of a shared vision for our future and are an important step forward for my campaign.
“I welcome the opportunity to work with these leaders to tackle the many challenges we face,” continued DelBene. “They are some of the most dedicated elected officials we have, representing voters from across the state, and I’m extremely grateful for their support.”
