The 8th Annual Washington Brewers Festival Father’s Day weekend at Marymoor Park attracted the largest crowds in the festival’s history, and not by just a little bit. More than 20,000 people attended the festival in mid June — a whopping 26 percent increase over 2012.

The 8th Annual Washington Brewers Festival Father’s Day weekend at Marymoor Park attracted the largest crowds in the festival’s history, and not by just a little bit. More than 20,000 people attended the festival in mid June — a whopping 26 percent increase over 2012.

“The Washington Brewers Festival is a perfect example of how public-private partnerships support our parks while benefitting the local economy and providing unique experiences for King County residents,” said Kevin Brown, King County Parks director.

In addition to the boost King County Parks received from parking and event facility rental fees, the family-friendly festival was also a boon to the local Redmond economy. Many of the 20,000 attendees spent the night in town, gassed up their vehicles and patronized local restaurants and businesses.

“We are thrilled about the economic and community vibrancy that the Washington Brewers Festival helps foster as a signature community event. Having one of our local breweries, Black Raven Brewing, bring home top honors at this year’s festival was particularly exciting,” said Erika Vandenbrande, economic development manager for the City of Redmond.
