Volunteer appreciation picnic to be held June 20

The Lake Washington School District, Lake Washington Schools Foundation and AXA Financial Advisors will host a volunteer appreciation picnic and pilot lunch for a district-wide program called LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools). The picnic takes place from 4-6 p.m., Friday, June 20, at Einstein Elementary School, 18025 NE 116th St.

The Lake Washington School District, Lake Washington Schools Foundation and AXA Financial Advisors will host a volunteer appreciation picnic and pilot lunch for a district-wide program called LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools). The picnic takes place from 4-6 p.m., Friday, June 20, at Einstein Elementary School, 18025 NE 116th St.

Food and beverages will be provided. Games, crafts and music are also scheduled. Volunteer of the Year and Mentor of the Year awards will be announced.

Prospective volunteers will have opportunities to speak with current volunteers and learn how just one hour per week can impact the life of a student. LINKS places volunteers as one-on-one mentors, literacy or math tutors, classroom volunteers and more.
