The Bear Creek School to host early childhood seminar on Nov. 5

The Bear Creek School (TBCS) at 8905 208th Ave. N.E. in Redmod is hosting a free early childhood seminar on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. till noon.

The Bear Creek School (TBCS) at 8905 208th Ave. N.E. in Redmod is hosting a free early childhood seminar on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. till noon.

The seminar will cover a wide-range of topics including reading, kindergarten readiness and early childhood, all taught by local teachers and education experts. The seminar is open to the public and consists of three sessions.

During each session, participants attend the topic that is most relevant or interesting to them.

The session titles include: Children’s Literature: Ignite the Spark – keynote speaker, Denise Peeler; Raising Responsible Children Using the Love and Logic Approach – instructor, Karen Wright; How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk – instructor, Kellie Anderson; and Bringing Music and Movement into Your Child’s Life – instructor, Deb Maurer.

“We want to give parents ideas and skills they can use to help their children develop independence and responsibility. We care about kids and want to be a valuable education resource to our community,” said Karen Blankenbeckler, vice president for academic affairs at TBCS.

Instruction will be provided by local teachers and education experts. This event is ideal for parents of young children, early childhood education teachers, Sunday school teachers and anyone interested in early childhood education.
