According to the King County road closure and restrictions web page, Northeast Union Hill Road from 208th Avenue Northeast to 238th Avenue Northeast will be closed from 7 a.m. July 31 through an anticipated opening date of 5 p.m. Aug. 27 for culvert replacement. Full roadway closure is necessary to remove existing culvert and install a new concrete box culvert.
According to Brent Champaco, King County Department of Transportation public information officer/community relations planner, local traffic will be able to access their homes on either the east or the west sides of the work area. Detour signs will direct drivers to either State Route 202 or Northeast Novelty Hill Road between 208th Avenue Northeast and 238th Avenue Northeast.
The section of Northeast Union Hill Road to be fully closed is approximately 40 feet east of 225th Avenue Northeast, according to a Department on Transportation updated alert on Tuesday. The length of the closure will be approximately 30 feet, and there will be local access east and west of the closure. Fire protection, mail delivery and other vital vehicles will also have that access.
