On Monday, a Redmond officer arrested two people at 12:14 p.m. for disorderly conduct in downtown, with one of the individuals also being arrested for vandalism.

The arrests came as a result of road rage between two eastbound cars on Cleveland Street.

Jim Bove, spokesperson for the Redmond Police Department (RPD), said one of the vehicles passed the other on the right side, then abruptly changed to the left lane and stopped at the entrance to the 161st Avenue Northeast and Cleveland Street intersection even though the light was green.

“An officer watched as someone got out of the vehicle, ran over to the other vehicle and threw a 23-ounce can of Arizona Fruit Punch at the windshield,” he said.

The passenger, who threw the can at the windshield, was arrested for vandalism and disorderly conduct and the driver was arrested for disorderly conduct because he assisted with the vandalism.

“All of this because a car ‘almost cut them off,'” Bove said.
