Rite Aid at 17220 Redmond Way will be one of six Seattle-area stores to hold free health screenings and beauty demonstrations and give away product samples on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Visitors can receive free screenings for cholesterol, blood glucose, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and memory impairment plus additional screenings that vary by location. The event will also offer free body mass index (BMI) readings, blood pressure readings and diabetes risk assessments.

Beauty experts will be on hand to demonstrate cosmetic and nail makeovers. Visitors also can sample organic, gluten-free or natural food products and pick up other product samples and coupons.

Rite Aid Wellness Ambassadors will also be on hand to provide interactive product demos on iPads.

As a regular addition to these and future Rite Aid “Wellness Stores,” Wellness Ambassadors serve as a bridge between the front end of the store and the pharmacy as well as a liaison to the community during health events such as these. This new store format, which debuted in spring of 2011, is part of Rite Aid’s continued commitment to providing services, products, and resources to help its customers and their families live healthy lives. Additional information on Wellness Stores is available upon request.
