Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 11:19 a.m. in the 17200 block of Redmond Way. Officers arrested a man on suspicion of stealing alcohol from a local grocery store.
Monday, Sept. 11
Vandalism: Redmond police took a vandalism report at 9:22 a.m. in the 11500 block of 178th Place Northeast. A suspect threw a metal object through a window of a local residence. No one was injured.
Sunday, Sept. 10
Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 3:15 a.m. in the 6600 block of 159th Avenue Northeast. Officers responded to a report of a suspect breaking into a residence and stealing the victim’s purse. The victim was home at the time and witnessed the suspect kick open the front door, run into the living room, grab her purse — which was on the floor about 6 feet away from her — and run out the front entry. The suspect was described as male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark ski mask, gloves and dark clothing. The victim saw the suspect run to a vehicle, jump in the passenger side and take off. The victim described the vehicle as a red SUV. The victim was uninjured and the suspect has not yet been identified.
Saturday, Sept. 9
Mail found: Redmond police took a mail-theft report at 1:18 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast 100th Street and 171st Avenue Northeast. Officers responded to a call of found mail on a trail by a local park. The mail was suspected to be stolen and officers attempted to return it all to its intended recipients.
Friday, Sept. 8
Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 12:21 p.m. in the 13200 block of Northeast 100th Street. Officers responded to reports of an assault committed between two people at a group home. No one was injured or arrested.
Thursday, Sept. 7
Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 8:22 p.m. in the 8600 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. Officers arrested a male on suspicion of assaulting a mentally disabled adult male and for breaking his personal property. The victim sustained minor injuries and the suspect was booked into jail for fourth-degree assault and malicious mischief.
Wednesday, Sept. 6
Drugs offense: Redmond police took a drugs-offense report at 11:30 p.m. in the 9300 block of Avondale Road. Officers responded to reports of found drug paraphernalia at a local residence.
