Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 5:13 p.m. in the 7900 block of Willows Road. A care-facility resident with dementia reportedly hit another resident. There were no injuries.
Monday, Dec. 12
Car prowl: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 8:18 a.m. in the 2800 block of 173rd Court Northeast. Sometime overnight, someone smashed a car window and rifled through the glove box, which was left open.
Sunday, Dec. 11
Car prowl: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 1:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of 156th Avenue Northeast. Someone smashed the back window of a car and stole a laptop and backpack.
Saturday, Dec. 10
You’ve got no mail: Redmond police took a mail-theft report at 1:11 p.m. in the 8000 block of 135th Place Northeast. A neighbor reported seeing someone take a package off a porch. Police were unable to locate the suspect, but were given a description and are investigating.
Friday, Dec. 9
ID theft: Redmond police took an ID-theft report at 1:36 p.m. in the 17700 block of Northeast 105th Street. A resident reported that someone stole their identity and opened several store and credit card accounts with his information.
Thursday, Dec. 8
Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 9:17 a.m. in the 15700 block of Bear Creek Parkway. Someone stole a laptop and purse from a car parked in a garage.
Wednesday, Dec. 7
Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 3:43 p.m. in the 18300 block of Northeast 76th Street. It was reported that a man stole a thermostat by placing it in his coat.
Shoplifting: Redmond police arrested a female shoplifter at a store in the 2100 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. She denied stealing anything, but the stolen items were inside the bag she was holding, according to a Redmond Police Department press release.
Also found in her bag: A Visa debit card in another name; a Social Security card and birth certificate in another name; used syringes, digital scale, drug paraphernalia and meth and heroin; and several tools commonly used in car prowls and retail theft.
Officers referred this case to prosecutors, recommending charges of second-degree theft, second-degree ID theft and possession of a controlled substance.
Tuesday, Dec. 6
Car prowl: Redmond police arrested a car prowler that morning in the 14600 block of Northeast 81st Street. A resident called 911 at 4:15 a.m. to report that he saw someone approaching several cars in the parking lot with a flashlight. Police arrived and found one vehicle that appeared to have been prowled.
“The resident provided an excellent description of the suspect,” reads a Redmond Police Department press release.
Officers located the suspect, who was attempting to leave the area in a car with another male. When asked what they were doing there, he said he was visiting a friend.
“He could not, however, name the friend or even the name of the complex he was visiting,” the release reads.
There were suspicious items in the car and the suspect also had drug paraphernalia; he was arrested. The other man had a warrant out of Marysville. The vehicle was towed to the station to be fully searched.
