The Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee annual Girls Unlimited series will begin this year with a theme of “what if girls ran the world?”

The first event will be Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St.

Targeted for young women 12 to 19 years old, Girls Unlimited is a day of fun and learning. Local community leaders will share stories about their experiences as leaders, what it takes and the challenges they faced. Interactive activities will help participants experience being leaders and forming groups.

Girls Unlimited began after requests from local girls. The series’ goal is to empower young women in the community to take charge and be participants in their lives as they change and grow.

The price of the event is $10 and scholarships are available. Prior registration is recommended. To register, visit www.Redmond.gov/econnect and enter course 38942. For more information, e-mail rypac@redmond.gov.
