The city of Redmond’s Citizen Academy series will begin April 21 and run through May 26.
The series will cover the many aspects of Redmond government and the role it serves in citizens’ day-to-day activities. Anyone who lives, works or owns property in Redmond is invited to participate.
The academy provides an opportunity for citizens to become familiar with the science and technology, projects and programs and possible future innovations regarding Redmond’s government operations.
Comprised of six sessions, Citizen Academy meetings include a short presentation by staff, a question-and-answer portion and an opportunity for participants to identify major points for future consideration during neighborhood plan updates.
The series will include additional information specific to the Southeast Redmond and Sammamish Valley neighborhoods as these portions of the city are up for a neighborhood plan update.
Sessions will be on Thursdays from 6:30-9 p.m. at City Hall, 15670 N.E. 85th St. Topics for this year’s academy include development services, traffic calming, transportation demand management, utilities, public safety and housing.
