Maxfield Chen of Redmond has been named to the dean’s list at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he studies computer science, for the spring 2016 semester.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who maintain grade point averages of a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below a C.

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the United States’ oldest technological research university. For nearly two centuries, the school has been a driving force behind breakthroughs in engineering and science in virtually every arena — from transportation and infrastructure to business, medicine, outer space and cyberspace.
