Redmond’s British Pantry to offer Royal Tea special for Friday’s Royal Wedding

Then check out Neville’s at The British Pantry in downtown Redmond on Friday, when the much-anticipated Royal Wedding of Prince William Windsor and middle-class commoner Kate Middelton will be viewed every way possible by millions of people across the world.

The longtime Redmond business, owned by a family originally from England, will open at 10 a.m. on Friday with a special “Royal Tea” special and a constant replay of the wedding. The celebratory tea includes an array of sweet-tasting pastries and scones, including the traditional English wedding cake, for $18.95.

Neville’s is the restaurant at the British Pantry, which specializes in British-style baked goods, groceries and gifts.

The British Pantry, open in Redmond since 1978, is owned and operated by the Redman family — Fred, Mavis, Neville and Alvia — with the baking expertise of three generations. The family opened the restaurant part of the business, Neville’s, in 2001 before rolling out the Three Lions Pub in 2006 as part of the family’s mini-version of the British Empire. The pub will be open at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and will also be showing replays and highlights of the wedding.
