The 50,000-square-foot store opened in March 2008 in Redmond Town Center at 7320 170th Ave. NE. It formerly was a Larry’s Market until that company ceased operations.

“A number of factors contributed to this being a difficult location for us,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for TOP Food & Drug stores. “Despite a remodel and great employees, we did not find the success we have had in other communities we serve.”

Skaggs said the company is diligently working to place most of the store’s approximately 50 employees at other TOP Food & Drug stores, including six in King County: Bellevue, Woodinville, Kent, Auburn, Federal Way and Shoreline.

“We appreciate the patronage of Redmond residents and hope they will consider visiting a nearby TOP Food & Drug in Bellevue or Woodinville after July,” Skaggs said.

Haggen, Inc. operates 33 supermarkets in Washington and Oregon under the TOP Food & Drug and Haggen Food & Pharmacy names. Headquartered in Bellingham, it is the largest independent grocer and sixth-largest private company based in the State of Washington. For more information, visit www.top-foods.com.
