Redmond Senior Center to feature outdoors speakers in upcoming series, begins Nov. 1

Beginning Nov. 1, the Redmond Senior Center (RSC) at 8703 160th Ave. N.E. will host an Outdoor Enthusiasts Speaker Series with Yellowstone Country Guardians founder and director Michael Leach as the first speaker.

Beginning Nov. 1, the Redmond Senior Center (RSC) at 8703 160th Ave. N.E. will host an Outdoor Enthusiasts Speaker Series with Yellowstone Country Guardians founder and director Michael Leach as the first speaker.

Leach will give a presentation about grizzly bears and Yellowstone, reliving his time as a bear education ranger in Yellowstone National Park. He will discuss the depths of Yellowstone and the surrounding wild lands as well as how Yellowstone Country Guardians works on the ground to inspire a commitment to this landscape.

The event will be in the RSC multipurpose room and is free. To register, call (425) 556-2314.

Future speakers will be local hiking and outdoor writer Craig Romano (Dec. 6) and Kenneth White (Jan. 10), an active senior with experience in the Northwest as a mountaineer, forest ranger, ski patroller and avalanche control officer.
