The Redmond Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Redmond, which gets more than 500 calls (emergency and non-emergency) per week.

Monday, March 12

K-9 assistance: Bellevue police requested assistance from Redmond police’s K-9 Unit with a narcotic sniff of a vehicle on a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Bellevue Way Southeast. Vader sniffed the exterior of the suspect vehicle and alerted on the vehicle.

Threatening phone call: At 3:28 p.m., Redmond police responded to a report of a threatening phone call at a business in the 15300 block of Northeast 40th Street in Overlake. Redmond police spokesman Jim Bove said vague threats were made and after the area around the business was checked, it was determined there was no threat or danger. There are no suspects at this time.

Shoplift: At 3:24 p.m., Redmond Police arrested one male for shoplifting in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.

Theft: Redmond police responded to a report from a hotel in the 2100 block of 152nd Avenue Northeast in Overlake where two males checked into a room and then removed the flat screen television along with a fax/copier and printer from the business center.

Vehicle prowl: At 6:56 a.m., Redmond police responded to an apartment complex in the 15800 block of Bear Creek Parkway downtown in reference to a car prowl report. There are no suspects at this time.

Sunday, March 11

Harassment: At 7:58 p.m., Redmond police investigated a report of a domestic disturbance in the 9400 block of Red-Wood Road between a husband and wife. The female party was arrested.

Forgery: At 2:08 p.m., Redmond police were dispatched to a report of fraud at a store in the 17600 block of Northeast 76th Street downtown. An investigation was initiated and the suspect was linked to previous cases at other stores, as disseminated by the store’s loss prevention department.

Marijuana: At 12:46 p.m., Redmond police stopped a vehicle after observing minor traffic violations in the 8400 block of 166th Avenue Northeast. The man was subsequently taken into custody for investigation of possession of marijuana. Charges are pending.

Saturday, March 10

Hit and Run: At 10:42 p.m., Redmond police arrested a female subject for a hit and run in the 3800 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.

Theft and shoplifting: Redmond police responded to four reports of theft and shoplifting. The first came from an apartment complex downtown at 9:50 a.m. The second came from Education Hill at 3:01 p.m. The victim’s suitcase was taken from their locked storage unit. The third call came in at 5:06 p.m. from a grocery school downtown where a woman exited with two bags of items she did not pay for. The final call came in at 5:54 p.m. downtown. Suspects were caught on camera.

Vehicle prowls: Redmond police investigated two reports of vehicle prowls. The first was at 12:52 p.m. in the 9900 block of Willows Road in the Grasslawn neighborhood. The second report was at 3:29 p.m. in the 8800 block of Red-Wood Road on Education Hill.

Friday, March 9

Shoplifting: Redmond police arrested two female suspects for shoplifting downtown. The first arrest was in the 17900 block of Redmond Way at 5 p.m. The second one was in the 15700 block of Redmond Way at 5:56 p.m.

Missing person: At 1:53 p.m., Redmond police investigated the report of a missing person from an apartment complex in the 18600 block of Northeast 59th Court downtown.

Car prowls: There were two reports of car prowls. The first came from a business at 1:13 p.m. in the 7700 block of 185th Avenue downtown. An unknown male suspect entered the victim’s car and stole her lunch bag. The second report came at 7:05 p.m. in the 8800 block of 161 Avenue Northeast on Education Hill.

Fraud: At 12:04 p.m., a woman in the 4000 block of 172nd Avenue Northeast in Overlake reported that she received online stolen credit card information.

Burglaries: At 11:51 a.m., Redmond police responded to a residential alarm in the 13300 block of Northeast 112 Place, which turned out to be a burglary. Police received a second burglary report at 2:16 p.m. from the 10000 block of 138th Avenue Northeast.
