Sophie Auerbach, a 2012 Redmond High School (RHS) graduate, is this year’s recipient of the $1,000 Nokomis Scholarship, which is funded by the Audrey Gorlick Foundation.
Auerbach, who will be honored at the Nokomis Luncheon on July 27, plans to attend Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. and major in health services.
The Nokomis Scholarship recognizes high academics, community involvement, extracurricular activities and future goals. Auerbach was on the track and field team and competed in DECA competitions for RHS. Outside of school, she volunteered with Motley Zoo Animal Rescue in Redmond, Chihuahua Rescue and worked at Kirkland Montessori.
